The company's history goes back to 1930s. Under Edmond Mario Granville's artistic direction, who had a background in fine jewellery from Cartier, they were hugely popular. 

Their design was initially influenced by European fashion designers like Chanel and Schiaparelli and their creative success lead to them having the licence to manufacture the costume jewellery for Yves Saint Laurent in the United States in 1980s and subsequently for Christian Lacroix in 1990s. 

Marked "Monet" at the back of the clasp, it measures 45cm in total.
